Die USS Tireless Tiger ist ein modernes, experimentelles und vor allem schwer bewaffnetes Schlachtschiff der Egdar Allen Poe Klasse, konzipiert als Antwort auf die Bedrohung durch die Borg. Nach dem Erstkontakt mit dieser gefährlichen und agressiven Spezies wurde das EAP-projekt paralell zum Defiant-Projekt entwickelt.
Die ursprünglichen Baupläne sahen eine massive Phaser-Kanone, verschiedene Typen von Torpedowerfern, Phaserbänke, Pulse-Phaser-Kanonen, einen Auto-Target-Kampfturm sowie Raum-Minen vor die das Schiff schlagfertig genug machen sollten, um im Geschwader den Kampf mit einem der todbringenden Kuben aufzunehmen.
Die Räumlichkeiten des vergleichsweise verhaltenen, aber für längere, unabhängige Reisen ausgelegten Schiffes sind auf acht Decks eines traditionelleren Designs als das der Defiant verteilt und erhöhen durch ihre bloße Mehrausstattung den Nutzwert gegenüber denen des Schwesterprojektes.
Die Konzeptionierung schritt unter der Leitung von Prof. Bhoran Bhodan zunächst nur mäßig voran, bis schließlich mehr Ressourcen zur Verfügung gestellt und die Entwicklung beschleunigt werden konnte. Anfang 2366/67 ging die USS Raven als Prototyp vom Stapel und löste, angesichts der Rückschritte beim Defiant-Projektes große Euphorie aus. Die Freude über das neue Schiff brach nach ersten Tests jäh ab:

Vorik stieß dabei auf einige wesentliche energiethermische Fehlberechnungen und löste dank dem Hinzufügen eines Tellerium-Kühlungskernes das Rätsel um den Fehlversuch. Starfleet Command gab ihrem Begehren, angesichts des Dominionkrieges ein weiteres, schlagfertiges Schiff möglicherweise fertigzustellen nach und teilte ihr ein Team zu.

The USS Tireless Tiger is a modern, experimental and, above all, heavily armed battleship of the EgdarAllen Poe Class, conceived as an answer to the Borg threat. After first contact was made with this dangerous and agressive species, the EAP project was developed paralell to the Defiant project.
The original construction plans intended a heavy phaser cannon, different types of torpedolaunchers, phaser banks, pulse phaser cannons, an autotarget combat tower as well as space mines, which were supposed to make the ship ready enough to fight one of the deadly cubes in a squadron.
The premises of the comparatively cautious, but for longer independent journeys conceived ship are distributed on eight decks in a more traditional design than the Defiant ones, and increase the value benefit by their optional extras, compared to the sister-project's.
The progress of the conception, under the special direction of Prof. Bhoran Bhodan, only progressed moderately at first, when finally more resources were made available in order to accelerate the progress.
